Jif® PEANUT BUTTER RECALL
Jif® peanut butter products are being recalled in the U.S. due to potential Salmonella contamination.
Salmonella is a bacterial organism that can result in serious infection from the bacteria entering the blood stream. If left untreated, severe infection can be deadly. Young children, elderly and individuals with weakened immune systems are most at-risk for serious infection. Most healthy individuals infected with Salmonella will experience nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, fever, and diarrhea.
What can you do?
- Check the lot number on your Jif® peanut butter to determine if it is involved in the recall. If you have a product that is part of the recall, dispose of it immediately. Read the full FDA recall announcement for additional details and to determine if your peanut butter is impacted by the recall.
